HMS Repulse and HMS Prince Of Wales

“On December 10, 1941, the battlecruiser HMS Repulse and battleship HMS Prince of Wales sank off the east coast of Malaysia.

The British warships were the central elements of Force Z, tasked with intercepting a Japanese invasion fleet”.

Ok so the battlecruiser HMS Repulse is one of my favorite ships of the world war, and because of that I made a similar copy of it in Lego but today we will be talking about the battlecruiser so let’s get to it.

HMS Repulse

Armament: 15”/42 (381 mm) twin barrel Mk I* main turrets

Armor: Belt armor: 3–6 in (76–152 mm); Deck armor: 1–2.5 in (25–64 mm); turret armor: 7–9 in

            (178–229 mm)

Speed31.73 knots (58.76 km/h; 36.51 mph).

Displacement: 32,000 tons

So, that’s all of the description about the ship and it’s a really good ship but as the paragraph said earlier the ship sank off the coast of Malaysia which is sad really.

So, let’s talk about the details now.

The HMS Repulse is a good ship and actually Repulse's firepower is consistent and comfortable, plus Repulse has served the Royal Navy for 25 straight years (really long right?).

So now it is time to talk about the HMS Prince Of Wales, in the paragraph the HMS Prince Of Wales was with the HMS Repulse when they both sunk.

And now It’s time for the description of the ship (read on).

HMS Prince Of Wales

Armament: BL 14-inch (356 mm) Mk VII guns.

Armor: Main Belt armor: 14.7 inches (370 mm) Deck armor: 5–6 inches (127–152 mm)

Main turrets: 12.75 inches (324 mm)

Speed: 28 knots (52 km/h; 32 mph)

Displacement: 42,100 tons

So that is the description of the HMS Prince Of Wales and it was actually the first to get hit by enemy torpedoes because HMS Repulse was doing some torpedo beats and with that Prince Of Wales got so damaged that their speed lowered from 28 knots to 18 knots (at least that’s what I think), so now they are a easier target for the Japanese planes...

As for Repulse well, it went down later on…

I hope you had Fun with me in this historical journey together

See you next time. BYE!
